At Worthinghead Primary School our intent is that children are equipped to flourish in an ever-increasingly technological world. Children need to be confident to tinker and work things out and be given the opportunities to explore a range of unplugged activities, devices, software, applications and physical computing.
Children will cover the three main strands of the computing curriculum Digital Literacy, Computer Science and Applying Technology. Following the NCCE scheme of work ensures our children experience a wide range of software, hardware, devices and to develop the appropriate computing skills.
We recognise the importance of teaching online safety, as it is essential to ensure that children are enabled to begin to make sensible and educated decisions about their technology use as they get older. Online safety is taught half-termly in PHSE lessons using a wide variety of resources including Project Evolve and Google's Be Internet Legends.
